About It was during an illness that I was reminded of the important things in life that I had put aside for another day. When I was a child I loved everything to do with design and drafting. Early years were spent playing in the cool white sand, building roads and bridges for matchbox cars. Later I enjoyed exploring new home sites, and would then rush home to re-design them with paper and pencil. Drawing was my trusted friend; it helped me survive.
I left home to attend The University of Missouri in Columbia, and took as many art classes as I could cram in to the semesters. Then I abandoned art for travel, and later, as fate would have it, I was directed to work in the construction field.
Eventually I designed and built my own home. I then went back to school and got a degree in Architectural Technology (Drafting). I spent 15 years drawing on the computer for engineering companies. I drew piping, mechanical equipment, landscaping, airports, roads and bridges. Once again I was required to take a break from that life. Sleepless nights found me dreaming of art.
So now 4500 drawings later, I find the need to take another step on life's highway and show the world Carriesart.
